Prototype Wiring System
The Roadrunner® Prototype Wiring System is as adaptable and flexible as you need it to be.
For instance, at entry level, beginners can quickly and effectively assemble and wire functional discrete circuits.
More advanced Users are able to assemble and wire logic, complex microprocessor, Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and/or discrete component applications. End of line or field service personnel are able to effect PCB or PWB circuit board repairs, rework and modifications.
Instructions and guidance notes on the Roadrunner Prototype Wiring System are available for download. These documents describe the System’s point to point, hand wiring, rapid wiring method and prototype assembly and wiring techniques.
PCB Prototype Wiring Kits and Components
A range of prototyping kits has been created to introduce users to the versatility and effectiveness of the Roadrunner® System. These include kits for : wiring discrete components, logic and microprocessor circuits, PCB/PWB repair and rework and Surface Mount Technology (SMT).

Prototyping Circuit Boards – Eurocards, Oktapad, High Density, Stripboard, Wirewrap and SMT
Review the broad range of prototyping eurocards, which are all RoSH compliant. All circuit boards are designed for use with the Roadrunner System, Wire Wrap or for general purpose applications.
The High Density series of circuit boards were specifically designed for the Roadrunner System and its high speed point to point, hand wiring, rapid wiring method, although theses boards are equally suitable for wirewrap or other high density applications.
The Oktapad® range of prototyping eurocards, comprises of the general purpose eurocard series, the Stripboard series and the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) series.
The Oktapad® range, prototyping boards include single sided and double sided and extended eurocards, single eurocards (3U single height) and double eurocards, (6U double height).

Wiring Pencil or Wiring Pen
The Roadrunner Wiring Pencil or wiring pen is the key to prototype wiring, electronic construction and PCB or PWB circuit repair and rework.
With its stainless steel tip, the wiring pencil is a quality, versatile, flexible and durable utility handtool and would grace any toolbox, workbench or field toolkit.

Wiring Pencil Wire
Two types of wire are available for wiring applications:
Tinned Copper Wire – which is used for wiring of discrete components, PCB or PWB shorting links, repairs, rework and modifications.
Solderable Enamel Wire – is supplied in two sizes – selected on preference, application and/or reliability. Four colours are available – pink, copper (gold), green and violet. Applications include: wiring of discrete components, logic microprocessors, Surface Mount Technology (SMT), applying PCB or PWB links, repairs and modifications. Caution. Please note that when soldering Solderable Enamel Wire, toxic vapour may be emitted, therefore ventilate area well / use suitable extraction equipment.

Also referred to as Roadrunner Strips, castellated strips, wiring combes, wiring pen combes, wiring channels, or wiring guides, are utilised to route and support the wiring in position as an integral component of the Roadrunner Wiring System.
