Wiring pencil or wiring pen wire is supplied
on plastic bobbins or wire spools as refills.
Two types of prototyping spooled wire are available:
- Insulated Solderable enamel wire or self
fluxing wire (QSE) – in two sizes –
0.15mm dia. (38swg) and 0.19mm dia. (36 swg).
The spools of wire are supplied in a variety of
colours for colour coding and to aid identification.
- Non-insulated Tinned Copper Wire (TCW) –
0.25mm dia. (33swg)
Applications for the Roadrunner prototyping wire,
which is coloured solderable enamel wire or self
fluxing wire, include:
- Discrete components, logic, microprocessors
and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) circuits
- Shorting links, PCB track repair and modifications
Applications for the Roadrunner tinned copper
wire (TCW), which is uninsulated, include:
- Entry level discrete component circuit wiring,
and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) circuits, shorting
links, pcb track repair and modifications
The coloured Solderable Enamel Wire conforms
to IEC 60317-20.
